Kenneth Pettine

While you may have never heard about mesenchymal stem cells, you’ve likely heard about its uses. Bone marrow was the original source of MSCs, and is still one of the most frequent sources. These bone marrow stem cells do not contribute to the formation of blood cells.  According to various published articles, mesenchymal stem cells can make several types of cells belonging to our skeletal tissues like cartilage, bone, and fat. Several scientists have devoted their lives to researching how MSCs can be used to treat bone and cartilage diseases.

One of these researchers is retired orthopedic surgeon, Kenneth Pettine.  Pettine trademarked the phrase, “Friends don’t let friends get fused,” He also founded the Rocky Mountain Associates in Orthopedic Medicine in 1991 to serve as a resource to ensure his patients had non-fusion surgical options.

Pettine also had tremendous success and experience with the Food and Drug Administration where he was the principal investigator for 18 studies that involved nonfusion implants, biologics, and stem cells. Many have said he’s the pioneer in spinal stem cell therapy.

Recently, Pettine was featured as one of the Top 50 Spine & Specialist Surgeons to Know in America.

Mr. Kenneth Pettine has contributed and devoted his entire life to stem cell therapy.  He’s launched a very informative website for those research stem cell therapy as an option at kennethpettine.com.
